You Completed the Boot Camp โ And Module 1!
In Module 1, you learned the science behind Red Team Facilitation โ why teams make bad decisions, and what to do about it. You also got your first two tools:
Basic Psychology
System 1/System 2 thinking. Cognitive bias. Groupthink. Organizational dysfunction. You've learned why smart teams fail โย and how RTF can help them succeed.
Think-Write-Share
A simple-yet-powerful technique for surfacing what people are really thinking, neutralizing hierarchy, and creating psychological safety.
Six Strategic Questionsโข
An easy-to-use framework for stress-testing strategies, creating alignment, and revealing second- and third-order effects.
That was the foundation. Modules 2โ6 are where you gain the rest of the core toolkit โ and earn your Red Team Facilitator certification. Sign-up now to complete your training!
What You'll Learn Next
Each module gives you a new tool โ field-tested, grounded in cognitive science, and ready to deploy with client teams immediately. By the time you complete Module 6, you'll have a comprehensive facilitation toolkit that no other consulting methodology offers.
Overcoming Cognitive Bias & Groupthink
Cognitive biases don't announce themselves. Neither does groupthink. In this module, you will learn how to identify and counter these threats to good decision-making. We'll dive deeper into the science and psychology behind Red Team Thinking, and you will learn a simple technique that will help your clients surface alternative perspectives and consider opposing viewpoints โ breaking the conformity that quietly kills good strategy.
Countering Logical Fallacies
Every flawed decision rests on a flawed argument. Argument Dissection will help you identify and expose the logical fallacies that underpin bad plans โ without turning the room adversarial. You'll learn to help teams strengthen their own reasoning by showing them where it breaks down.
How to Stress-test Assumptions
Every strategy is built on assumptions. Most of them are never examined. The Assumptions Challenge and Triple-Filter Method give you systematic ways to surface, categorize, and stress-test the assumptions holding up your clients' plans โ before reality does it for them.
Contemplating Failure to Ensure Success
When we come up with a plan, we immediately fall in love with it โ and when we fall in love with our plans, we stop questioning them. Developed by renowned cognitive psychologist Dr. Gary Klein, Pre-Mortem Analysis will help you help your clients understand how their plans can fail โ so that they can make sure that they don't. You'll learn how to facilitate pre-mortem sessions that uncover fatal flaws, blind spots, and "what could go wrong" scenarios while there's still time to fix them.
Putting It All Together
Tools are only as good as the culture that supports them. Our Red Team Culture Assessment helps you evaluate an organization's readiness for critical thinking and identify the cultural barriers that prevent it. This final module ties everything together, showing you how to integrate the tools you have learned into client engagements and build lasting capability inside the organizations you serve.
