The Coaching Industry Is Under Siege
AI coaching tools are getting better every month. The barrier to entry has never been lower. And the leaders you serve are navigating a world defined by war, economic turmoil, and technological disruption that is moving faster than any coaching framework was designed to handle.
The hard truth is this: the market doesn't need more coaches who ask good questions. It needs coaches who can help leaders think — critically, rigorously, and under pressure. That is the one capability AI cannot replicate. It is the highest-value service a human coach can provide. And it is exactly what Red Team Coaching was built to deliver.
You saw the basics in the Boot Camp. Now it's time to start building your toolkit.
You Completed the Boot Camp. Here's What You Walked Away With.
In Module 1, you learned the science behind Red Team Coaching — why leaders make bad decisions, how cognitive bias sabotages even the smartest people, and what to do about it. You also got your first two tools:
The Psychology
The System 1/System 2 thinking framework. Cognitive biases and heuristics. Behavioral biases. Groupthink. Satisficing. The science of why smart leaders fail — and what coaches can do about it.
Think-Write-Share
A simple-yet-powerful technique for surfacing what people are really thinking, neutralizing hierarchy, and creating psychological safety. A tool you can teach your clients to use with their own teams.
Six Strategic Questions™
An easy-to-use framework for stress-testing strategies, creating alignment, and revealing second- and third-order effects to help your clients make better choices.
That was the foundation. Modules 2–6 are where you build the rest of the toolkit — and earn your certification.
What You'll Learn Next
Each module gives you a new tool — field-tested, grounded in cognitive science, and designed to be deployed in coaching sessions immediately. By the time you complete Module 6, you’ll have a comprehensive coaching toolkit that sets you apart from every other coach in the market — including the AI ones.
Overcoming Cognitive Bias & Groupthink
Your clients don’t know they’re biased. That’s the whole point of bias. On the Contrary™ gives you a structured technique for helping leaders see what they’ve been trained not to notice — and for teaching them to build this discipline into their own decision-making and that of their teams.
Countering Logical Fallacies
Every flawed decision rests on a flawed argument. Argument Dissection™ teaches you to help your coaching clients identify and expose the logical fallacies that underpin bad strategies — strengthening their reasoning without turning the conversation adversarial. This is high-value coaching that no AI can deliver.
How to Stress-test Assumptions
Every strategy is built on assumptions. Most of them are never examined. The Assumptions Challenge™ and Triple-Filter Method give you systematic ways to help your clients surface, categorize, and stress-test the assumptions holding up their plans — before reality does it for them.
Contemplating Failure to Ensure Success
Imagine the plan has already failed. Why? Gary Klein’s Pre-Mortem is one of the most powerful planning tools ever developed — and one of the most underused. You’ll learn how to guide your coaching clients through pre-mortem sessions that uncover fatal flaws and blind spots while there’s still time to fix them.
Putting It All Together
Tools alone aren’t enough — you need to measure progress. C-Change™ is designed to help you assess and track the development of your coaching clients as critical thinkers and red team leaders over time. This final module ties everything together, showing you how to integrate the Red Team Coaching toolkit into your practice and demonstrate measurable impact to your clients.
Earn 24 ICF CCEU Credits*
The Red Team Coaching™ Level I Program is ICF accredited. Completing all six modules earns you 24 Continuing Coach Education Unit credits toward your ICF credential renewal — in addition to your Bronze Certified Red Team Coach™ designation.
*Credit total is pending final approval by ICF and is based on the previous version of this course.
